Someone ordered one of these at Christmastime, and it blew my mind. I had never heard of such a thing and vowed to try one – but then we ran out of eggnog, and then after that I forgot. By the time I remembered, I was home for winter break and had a whole month to anticipate what an eggnog latté would taste like.
Maybe that’s why I was disappointed when I finally got around to trying one. It seemed like it should be this epic, glorious brew, but in the end it was just average. It was a little thicker, a little richer, and a little spicier than a plain latté, but you couldn’t even tell there was eggnog in it; the same effect could have been achieved with half and half or whole milk and a little cinnamon and nutmeg. To boot, the drink had an extra-bitter aftertaste. It was a decent, drinkable latté, but it was not worth the bajillion extra calories added by the ‘nog.
Peace, love, and snowpile sliding,
Miss Rex
